South Tippah Skills Summer Camp

Automotive Summer Skills Camp

The South Tippah School District held its first Skills Camp for 8th grade students on June 6th for those interested in automotive related fields.  The class was taught by TCTC auto instructor, Chris Colucci, and TCTC Construction instructor, Matt Graves.  Students from all South Tippah Schools participated in activities such as electrical training, changing oil, checking fluid levels, running a CNC machine, sharpening saw blades, using and identifying both power and hand tools, and safety on the jobsite.  We hope to make this a bigger program in the coming years after our pilot season.  This year we offered three areas in our camps including: Automotive, Health Science, and Law and Public Safety.  Thanks to Superintendent, Tony Elliiott, for the encouragement and support of the programs.
