South Tippah Skills Summer Camp

Students at Skills Camp

The South Tippah School District held its first Skills Camp for 8th grade students on June 2th for those interested in health-related fields and June 9th for our those looking into law and public safety-related areas.  The class was taught by TCTC Health Science instructor, Dana Chapman and our returning Law and Public Safety instructor, Bill McCain.  They were assisted by Caroline Chapman.  Students from all South Tippah Schools participated in activities such as CPR, first aid, career investigation, basic health care, fire fighting, police work, military service, and the understanding the constitution.  We hope to make this a bigger program in the coming years after our pilot season.  This year we offered three areas in our camps including: Automotive, Health Science, and Law and Public Safety.  Thanks to Superintendent, Tony Elliiott, for the encouragement and support of the programs.
