Hi, I am Shelley Munn Akins.  I am a native of Ripley and a 1989 graduate of Ripley High School.  In 1991, I received a Bachelor of Arts from Northeast Mississippi Community College.  I continued my education at Mississippi College, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  Also, I received my Master of Arts in Curriculum and Education through Walden University.  I began my teaching career in August 1993, at Blue Mountain Elementary teaching Special Education.  In 2008, I joined the Ripley Middle School Staff where I taught Sixth grade Social Studies.  In 2012, I left the classroom to become the Media Specialist for Ripley Middle School.

I am married to Sean Akins and we have three children, Bryce, Brant, and Leigh Allison. My family and I are active members of First Baptist Church. We are also involved with Ripley school activities and Scouting.
